Well, I admit
it, I have this problem. Whenever I spend time on the river, my
hands turn into hamburger by the end of the trip! I've been told
that this is a normal condition of the aging, but I am resisting
that diagnosis with a passion. Anyway, last fall I ran into the
solution while on a trip to the Madison in the park. I found a hand
cream made especially for those of us that brutalize our digits
by exposing them to constant dipping in cold water. It's called
"Porter's Hired Hand" and it has been manufactured and
sold by a small family company in Bozeman for over 70 years. This
stuff smells kind of mediciney when you first apply it, because
one of the ingredients is camphor, but the smell rapidly goes away
(no perfume here). Most important, it works better for split fingertips
and rough sore hands than anything I have ever seen, and I've seen
a lot of them! Try a tube, and I'm sure you will agree with me that
this stuff solves the problem. Dealers, put a 12-pack display case
on your counter, this stuff is tailor made for fly anglers!
PORTER'S HIRED
HAND CREAM is a soothing, emollient white cream whose formula chock
full of goodness from ingredients like Glycerin, Sunflower Seed
Oil, Camphor, Rosemary Oil, & Greensoap. Dispenses from a convenient,
capless 3 oz. plastic tube and absorbs quickly without stickiness
or residue. No backpack or fishing vest should be without it!
